KBJR 6 recognized for evening newscast, weather and website

DULUTH, MN – KBJR 6 earned several honors for its newscasts, reporting and specialty programming in two recent awards contests.

KBJR 6 earned first place awards for general reporting and weather in the Eric Sevareid Awards which covers a six-state region.

The general reporting award recognized a report produced by Dan Wolfe on Sawyer County’s voting record in past presidential races. The weather award honored Chief Meteorologist Adam Lorch’s work.

KBJR 6 also picked up an award of merit for the KBJR 6 News at 10.

KBJR 6 earned first place awards for evening newscast for the KBJR 6 News at 10 and website from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association’s Awards for Excellence.

The 10pm newscast honored by both contests aired May 3rd, 2020, and featured developing news surrounding stay-at-home orders in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

KBJR 6 also earned a third-place award in the Awards for Excellence documentary and series category for Missing & Murdered: An Invisible Epidemic, written and produced by Bonney Bowman.
