BLOOMINGTON, MN – KBJR 6 was honored with three regional Emmy awards Saturday night during the 19th Annual Upper Midwest Emmy Gala in Bloomington.
KBJR 6 News at Noon and KBJR 6 News at Ten earned Emmy awards in the Daytime and Evening Newscast categories (Markets 121+). KBJR 6’s hours-long coverage of the Husky Refinery explosion earned the station an Emmy for Breaking News.
“Our team on-air and behind the scenes worked tirelessly to inform viewers about the latest details during the Husky Refinery explosion. It was scary day filled with so many uncertainties and information coming in minute by minute. It’s an honor to be recognized,” said Kevin Jacobsen, KBJR 6 News Director.
Nearly 950 entries were submitted this year from television stations in a five-state region.
