CBS 3 Duluth earns first ever regional Emmy award

BLOOMINGTON, MN – CBS 3 Duluth was honored with a regional Emmy award Saturday night during the 19th Annual Upper Midwest Emmy Gala in Bloomington.

CBS 3 Duluth’s coverage of Super Bowl Sunday in Minneapolis earned an Emmy award for Weekend Newscast (Markets 121+). The newscast featured live reports from outside US Bank Stadium and in Duluth, along with the day’s latest news and weather.

“This is the first ever regional Emmy honor for CBS 3,” said Kevin Jacobsen, CBS 3 News Director. “The recognition from our peers reflects the hard work and commitment to local news and events from the entire staff.”

Nearly 950 entries were submitted this year from television stations in a five-state region.

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences is the only professional association representing television professionals from all disciplines of the industry, serving as the common meeting ground for individuals dedicated to advancing the art and science of television.
