Meteorologist – KWWL

KWWL, the NBC affiliate serving eastern Iowa, needs an experienced meteorologist who understands the importance of severe storm coverage. From spring and summer tornadoes to a derecho to winter blizzards, we see it all. We need someone who is a great forecaster, good communicator and calm under pressure.

We have a four-person weather team, the next generation in weather graphics and storm tracking with the WSI Max system and live cameras throughout the DMA. You’ll work with pros who recently were certified as the most accurate forecast team by independent research company WeatheRate. We have all the tools you need to successfully tell your weather story.

You’ll primarily forecast weather for our Saturday and Sunday newscasts and forecast for various other newscasts and platforms three days during the week. You’ll also do live shots from major breaking weather stories across the 21 counties we serve. This is a full-time weather position.

The Waterloo-Cedar Rapids-Dubuque-Iowa City market is a great place to live with numerous colleges and universities, good quality of life, low cost of living, ample recreation. Plus, we’re close to Minneapolis, Chicago and Des Moines.
