KBJR Television, Inc. in Duluth, Minnesota, has an immediate opening for an assignment editor.
The assignment editor works with everyone in the newsroom to assign and cover news of the day. But those duties go beyond traditional broadcast news.
We are looking for a candidate who is a news junkie. Someone who doesn’t take no for an answer when pursuing a story. Someone who can manage field crews and thrives in a deadline-driven environment.
The ideal candidate has a strong knowledge of reporting, researching, sourcing and enterprising ideas. You need to be able to multi-task, communicate effectively with crews and producers, and juggle logistics, including phones and tracking scanner traffic.
KBJR-TV is part of Quincy Media, Inc. We are a family owned company that currently operates 20 television stations doing news, two newspapers and two radio stations. Quincy is always hiring. Visit QuincyMediaCareers.com for more.
The successful candidate will also be able to work across multiple platforms in this new era of journalism. Experience with web, social media, and mobile content platforms is a plus.
This is an entry-level position. You'll need a degree in journalism or mass communications, experience and knowledge in broadcast journalism and a clean driving record.
NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE.
