Our weather system is state of the art--The Weather Company’s MAX, MAX Storm and MAX Studio. During severe weather coverage, our meteorologists are supported by a team of award-winning journalists who report live from the field.
The weekend meteorologist is the main fill-in for all weekday meteorologist shifts. This position also involves multimedia journalist work three days a week, when not covering weekday weather shifts. The reporting primarily focuses on weather, energy, agriculture and environmental issues.
WGEM News wins Murrows, EMMYs, and has been recognized time and again by numerous organizations for journalistic excellence, including for live wall-to-wall coverage of Breaking Weather.

Qualified candidates must be proficient in radar analysis, an accurate forecaster and able to present emergency Breaking Weather information during wall-to-wall severe weather coverage. You will have the Cadillac of weather systems, so knowledge of The Weather Company’s MAX, MAX Storm, MAX Studio and MagicTrak is a plus.
Experienced and polished weathercasters who are not
meteorologists will also be considered.
